July 25, 2010-
ONE HUNDRED DAYS until the midterm elections so we started one hour early (wasn't a direct 100 anything, but still). Two big stories dominate the evening: the first is the leak of almost 90,000 classified documents to WikiLeaks in Sweden. Someone please explain why the United States government has not taken this site off the net - we OWN the net. This leak of documents can hurt our troops and comes ON THE SAME DAY as two of our troops go missing in Afghanistan. We need to win the war or leave. The end of pussyfooting around the war - either do it or leave. I'm done watching men die while we have entire towns run by the Taliban. Fix this with some bombs or bring the men and women home. THEN we find out that the Obama White House KNEW that the terrorist was being let go (remember the guy that only had weeks to live who seems to had a miraculous recovery and is no longer sick) - there were going to be hearings. I wonder if there will be hearings now. AND the United Kingdom is junking their healthcare system just as we adopt one like it. Amazing.

The pressure on Rep. Bob Filner to apologize and to say that cartoons lampooning disabled veterans are not okay was so intense that after the show he apologized and relented. Didn't hear the story? Listen to the show from July 11th. The night was an odd one as we ended up talking about homeless people - we somehow managed to get a bunch of calls from homeless people (I'm glad they're listening, but come on) - surely people can agree that there are plenty of programs and people out there willing to help the homeless. Anyway, interesting night - enjoy it.

July 11, 2010-
Bob Filner has "no reaction" to a cartoon that he didn't see (forget that I sent it to him). This regarding the cartoon to the right of disabled Marine hero Nick Popaditch who was made part of a cartoon in a rag in the Imperial Valley Press. Huh? This guy is a hero and Filner is the CHAIRMAN of the Veterans Affairs committee in the HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES, but he must think it is okay to make fun of a heroes injuries. I'm incensed because this is an attack on all disabled veterans. Then there is the end of the World Cup - FIFA is done and Spain won. The only thing great out of the World Cup is the octopus that picked the winners.

July 4, 2010-
Ladona Harvey and Steve had a great time on the USS MIDWAY celebrating the birth of the greatest nation on the planet. We talked to Homefront San Diego to see what we could do to help the warriors fighting to keep the freedom that our independence requires. And Ladona was on stage and we got the first interview with the apple pie eating contest. All in all it was a wonderful night that culminated in fireworks and patriotic music. I guess we could set aside politics (for the most part) for one day a year. For the record, the president defied that rule before either of us did.

THANK YOU for celebrating your Independence Day with us on KOGO. THOUSANDS of people had a wonderful time on the USS MIDWAY and it was wonderful to see you. Ladona and I had a great time with you and hope you enjoyed being with us.

June 27, 2010-
Senator Robert Byrd is hospitalized and though that is terrible and we wish him well - it could mean that the Democrats will not be able to pass their financial overhaul plan. The president went to Canada and told the world the keep spending while Europe was begging one another and the United States to STOP. Gay pride parades took to the streets and even the Israeli press was covering NYC pride because of the number of proud Israelis that marched down the street. You know this program - I'm opposed to gay pride on the principle that putting on a parade that makes the stereotypes about gay people come to life is a bad thing - it is never a bad thing to see Israelis coming together and showing the world that we are proud to be part of the American culture. Finally, next week Ladona Harvey and Steve Yuhas on the USS Midway for the 4th of July. You coming? You should. |

June 20, 2010-
The oil is STILL gushing into the Gulf of Mexico. There are now worst case scenarios that say about 100,000 gallons a day could be flowing into the Gulf. Still, people were apoplectic that the CEO of BP and the President did not spend Father's Day weekend in the Gulf region. Huh? Yes, Obama golfs... a lot, but what are either of these men going to do by not doing anything? Also, breaking during the show was the fact that White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel will be OUT of the White House as he locks horns with not only insiders close to the president, but with others who won't push hard enough on the Obama agenda. The big question now is what is going to happen in the Blago trial (where Rahm is a witness) and what will happen in the end when he is asked if anyone was offered a job to do anything political? No reason to fall on a sword if you are not close to the president. I smell a book deal and another jury in his future.

June 13, 2010-
The election is over (the primaries anyway) and we are going to deal with the consequences of nominating Meg Whitman and Carly Fiorina - I wonder if they will take questions now? Thanks for stopping by and saying hello during the show on Tuesday night. It is always interesting to meet the people who are listening and calling the program so it was great to see you (and go see yourselves at KOGO.com and click on the election photo gallery - I bet you're there). Interesting was that we had to cross a picket-line on Tuesday night to get to the election results because CITY WORKERS run the place? WHY? It is a conference center. This should be contracted out to the best and lowest bidder if anything should be. The wrong people lost some of the races and we talked about it - well you mostly did. I did the listening. That and much much more. |

Steve Yuhas, called a "rising star" in radio, hosts his unique take on current events and politics during The Steve Yuhas Show - dubbed Uniquely Conservative Talk Radio™. Heard live from San Diego to Santa Barbara; Mexico to Arizona and all over the world on AM 600 KOGO - San Diego's News & Talk Station.
From one entertainment reporter, "At first listen, Steve Yuhas sounds like just about any other right-wing talk-show host on the dial... His guests include the usual array of newsmakers and gadflies, and his running commentary is sprinkled with nasty zingers about liberals and Democrats. He buddies around with like-minded colleagues. And his arch-conservative opinions are reliably predictable." It is not exactly that simple for this Jewish disabled former military man who happens also to be gay.
Honorably discharged from the Marine Corps and Army, Yuhas served from Texas to Germany; California to the Middle East. He believes that service to his country made him able to overcome the adversity that came after he sustained a spinal cord injury. Now a Lifetime Member of the Disabled American Veterans as well as a member of Paralyzed Veterans of America - he works hard for military folks and veterans alike.
In a time when being a veteran is uncommon in public office, not to mention on radio and television, Yuhas brings a unique perspective to the field. Guests have included everyone from the high ranking military men in our and other countries, secretaries of government agencies, local and national politicians and international leaders including former Prime Ministers and ambassadors from the world over. Callers & Yuhas' unique biography make the Steve Yuhas Show unlike any other radio show. |

GUILTY: Liberal "Victims" and Their Assault on America
Ann Coulter calls out liberals for always playing the victim – when in fact, as she sees it, they are the victimizers. In GUILTY, Coulter explodes this myth to reveal that when it comes to bullying, no one outdoes the Left. GUILTY is a mordantly witty and shockingly specific catalog of offenses which Coulter presents from A to Z. And as with each of her past books, all of which were NYT bestsellers, Coulter is fearless in her penchant for saying what needs saying about politics and culture today.

The Case Against Barack Obama
He was "delivered to us," proclaimed Chris Matthews. He will transform America, healing our historical racial wounds. President Barack Obama will infuse us all with new hope. Many among the media and his followers have elevated him to nearly divine status. Barack Obama has escaped realistic appraisal and serious-minded critique more than any man (or woman) who has ever been elected to our nation's highest office.

The Reagan I Knew
It is fitting, perhaps, that when William F. Buckley Jr. was struck down at his desk in February 2008 he was putting the finishing touches on this memoir of Ronald Reagan. No two men were more important to the rise and triumph of conservatism in America than Buckley and Reagan; and though each was a titan in his own right, neither could have stood as tall without the other. Each, too, had a great capacity for humor, conversation, and most of all lasting and loyal friendship. The Reagan I Knew, then, is much more than a memoir, more than a political biography -- it is a highly personal, often hilarious, and finally deeply moving chronicle of the friendship between the two great figures of the modern American Right.

The Truth About Hillary
Everyone knows that Bill Clinton wanted to be President of the United States ever since he was a boy. What almost no one knows is that his wife Hillary harbored the same ambition since she was a girl -- and that her plan from the very start of their marriage was to succeed him in the Oval Office.

A Slobbering Love Affair: The True (And Pathetic) Story of the Torrid Romance Between Barack Obama and the Mainstream Media
"Never in my memory," says veteran journalist Bernard Goldberg, "were so many journalists so intent on effecting change as they were during the campaign of 2008." Sure, mainstream journalists always root for the Democrat -- Richard Nixon complained of media bias as long ago as his presidential campaign against John F. Kennedy in 1960. But in 2008 it went beyond that. In A Slobbering Love Affair: The True (and Pathetic) Story of the Torrid Romance Between Barack Obama and the Mainstream Media, Goldberg shows that this time journalists were not satisfied merely being partisan witnesses to history.

On My Honor: Why the American Values of the Boy Scouts Are Worth Fighting for
Texas governor Rick Perry, through the legacy of the Boy Scouts of America, takes dead aim at the moral relativism of the secular humanist movement, indicting its corrosive impact on the culture. Examining the left's legal assaults on the Boy Scouts of America - which span more than 30 years - Perry offers prescient insight into the multi-faceted war, which pits the proponents of traditional American values against the radical leftist movement that seeks to tear down our social foundations.

News doesn't stop just because it is the weekend so we start the week on Sundays. Tune in as we talk about everything the other guys will be talking about on Monday.

My friend, Eyal Feldman, made his way across a very famous body of water in Israel and raised money for some very worthy causes. Thank you for supporting him. Read about what he did HERE

Is it only me or does it seem like there are only a few generals in our entire military? We keep calling on the same ones over and over again to turn things around. The Commander of NATO forces in Iraq resigned after a Rolling Stones article and now we're back to the same old circle of generals. He should have known not to talk about the president the way he did, but come on. The article wasn't that bad. Or was it?

Gotta love those who Tweet: www.twitter.com/steveyuhas

Yes, the program is on Facebook: HERE

As you consider helping those who served our country - please consider helping those that serve Israel too. There are not that many Jewish talk show hosts on radio and I'm happy to be one that supports the Israeli Defense Force.

Homefront San Diego needs our help. The holidays are coming (Thanksgiving, Chanukah and Christmas) and there are men and women willing to give up their lives for us and even strangers who may not be able to put food on the table. EVERY MAN WEARING A UNIFORM DESERVES TO GIVE HIS FAMILY A PROPER MEAL FOR HIS FAMILY. Let's help Homefront San Diego put food on those tables. Visit Homefront by clicking on the name or call 866-424-9467. You can now donate ONLINE - just go to the website and use the convenient credit card function.

- VETERANS: The H1N1 flu virus is here and not only are regular flu shots available at your local Veterans Affairs clinic or hospital, but they are getting ready for H1N1 too. Click HERE for more information.
- We get a lot of calls and emails about military benefits. One of the best places to go is Military OneSource, if you need information it is a great place to start. Consider this a place to start, but never be afraid to write to ask - if we don't know the answer, we know the people who do! HERE
- Veterans have a new GI Bill, it is called the Post 9-11 GI Bill, but whatever it is called it means more money to you and money faster. Hopefully the slow processing times are a thing of the past. We shall see, but give them a try and see what you EARNED and never consider a veteran's benefit a handout. I did that once and it was not the smartest thing I ever did! Post 9-11 GI Bill

The UN is recognizing a gay rights group - amazing. Someone tell Iran before they hang another gay (or are they really not there?). The U.N. Economic and Social Council voted Monday to accredit the U.S.-based International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission after strong lobbying by the Obama administration. Obama, in a statement issued by the White House, welcomed the vote as an "important step forward for human rights." With the group's inclusion, he said "the United Nations is closer to the ideals on which it was founded, and to values of inclusion and equality to which the United States is deeply committed."

Many gays love judges - they give them things that will not be received from the people. But in the case of a California judge they don't want him. Why? They don't think he'll be fair in a gay case because he is a religious judge. Defense attorneys for a Southern California teen accused of murdering a gay classmate are seeking to have the judge in the case recuse himself before the trial begins.
Lawyers for defendant Brandon McInerney claimed in a motion Monday that Ventura County Superior Court Judge Charles Campbell won't be fair.

John Marcotte, 38, a Sacramento father of two, said he was inspired to create the 2012 California Marriage Protection Act by the pro-Proposition 8 campaigners claiming the law was desi

So much for academic freedom: The controversy over the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign's dismissal of an adjunct professor for his teachings in a course on Roman Catholicism has been exacerbated by word, reported in today's Chicago Tribune, that the instructor was selected to teach the course and was paid by the church, through the campus's St. John's Catholic Newman Center, which is financed by the diocese of Peoria, Ill. The adjunct, Kenneth Howell, was dismissed after a student complained to the university that Mr. Howell's remarks on Catholic doctrine on homosexuality constituted "hate speech." A university panel is now reviewing the situation, to determine if Mr. Howell's academic freedom or free speech were violated.
